Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organized the “Information hour” today. Main activities carried out by the MFA during the first 100 days since the formation of new Government as well as the official visit of H.E.Mr.J.Erdenebat, Prime Minister of Mongolia, to Japan on 12-15 October, including the “Mongolia-Japan trade and economic forum” organized during the visit, were the main emphasis during the “Information Hour”.
Mr.D.Davaasuren, State Secretary of the Ministry, highlighted the 30 main tasks implemented by the Ministry during the first 100 days of new Government, including the development of MFA’s detailed plan for ensuring the implementation of foreign relations related issues reflected in the Action plan of the Government of Mongolia for 2016-2020, and the update of Mongolia’s position on some foreign policy, international and regional security, regional integration and emerging issues. Moreover, he introduced about the works of the Ministry on promoting economic cooperation, public diplomacy and protecting the legitimate rights of Mongolians living abroad.
State Secretary also informed that, during the recent official visit by H.E.Mr.J.Erdenebat, Prime Minister of Mongolia, to Japan, countries agreed to ensure the implementation of the Economic Partnership Agreement between the countries, which entered into force this year, and to cooperate closely on creating more favorable trade and investment environment by taking significant measures, including the commencing of negotiations for the double taxation agreement. State Secretary noted that the “Mongolia-Japan trade and economic forum”, represented by 42 Mongolian companies and more than 240 Japanese companies, was a clear demonstration of the interests of Japanese investors towards the policies of the Mongolian Government and opportunities for investing in Mongolia.
